Kate Chamuris is a producer, director and actress based in Los Angeles, CA. She began making narrative films after working in the NYC theater and comedy improv scene. Her award-winning films have gone on to shortlist for the Live Action Short Oscar and screened at top festivals including Sundance & SXSW.

Her producing experience includes the short BLOCKS (dir. Bridget Moloney) that had its world premiere at Sundance 2020 and the creative team was the subject of a Southwest Airlines sponsored LA Times docu-series on their journey to Sundance. MILLER & SON short (dir. Asher Jelinsky) was on the Oscar Shortlist for Live Action Short ‘20, won the Gold Student Academy Award ‘19, won the student BAFTA live action short award ‘19 and their casting director, Russell Boast, was nominated for a CSA Artios Award ‘20. BALLOON short (dir. Jeremy Merrifield) Oscar qualified by winning the Grand Prix at HollyShorts ‘19 as well as Best Drama Series at the College Television Awards. UNSPEAKABLE short (dir. Milena Govich) world premiered at SXSW ‘18. Animated short NUEVO RICO (dir. Kristian Mercado) that won the Oscar Qualifying Jury Award for Best Animated Short at SXSW ‘21 & LALIFF ‘21.

Kate’s directing work includes the comedy short A SARI FOR PALLAVI (writer Sunita Deshpande) that won first prize for Best Comedy Short at Academy Award qualifying Rhode Island International Film Festival.

While developing her independent projects, Kate is working as an on set VFX coordinator on LucasFilm's streaming shows for Disney+, including THE MANDALORIAN, THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT, and ASHOKA.

Kate was in the inaugural class of seven young executives in SeriesFest’s Executive Elevation Program.
