Kate Chamuris is a Los Angeles based director, producer and writer currently working in indie films, television, and sketch comedy.
With a passion to create her own content, Kate completed the sketch writing and Improv programs at Upright Citizen’s Brigade theater in New York City and went on to write, direct and act in sketch comedy for the web. Her series, “Breakfast in Bed” is currently playing festivals, having premiered at The Sidewalk Film Festival and qualified as a Finalist for best series at Amarcord Arthouse Television & Video Fest.
Her current directing project that is in post production is the short film “A Sari for Pallavi” by award winning playwright and comedic actress Sunita Deshpande. Kate is currently adapting Danielle Sepulveres’s memoir: “Losing it…the semi-scandalous story of an ex-virgin” for her feature film directorial debut.
For the past year and a half she has been working with the AFI Conservatory fellows producing their thesis films. She also produced Milena Govich’s UNSPEAKABLE for AFI’s Directing Workshop for Women.
On a personal note, Kate fancies herself a self-proclaimed holistic doctor, due to the boundless knowledge she has gained from being a naturopathic hypochondriac with an Internet connection.
